Blue Badge Guides

The coveted Blue Badge is the British national standard guiding qualification and is recognised internationally as indicating a standard of guiding excellence. In 1999 Blue Badge Guides of Britain were awarded the Tourism Society's prestigious Annual Award in recognition of their services.  The training is detailed and comprehensive, and the examinations rigorous.

Wales Blue Badge Guides are registered with the Wales Tourist Board

All of the Wales Blue Badge Guides have broad based knowledge and understanding of Wales, past and present, of Welsh society and culture, and in the events and especially the people that make Wales such an interesting place. They take pride in constantly updating their knowledge to enable their visitors to enjoy Britain's unique and varied heritage.

In addition, most guides develop their own specialist areas. Marion is interested in Folklore, Ghosts, Piracy and Maritime History, Castles and Gardens and Celtic History. Currently she is researching some themed Tours and Walks on the rich Military History of Pembrokeshire and these will be available in the near future. She is a member of the Guild of Registered Guides, Wales Official Tourist Guides Association and the Institute of Tourist Guiding.
